17 days out...
Well, I had my VSG done on May 5th and it went really well! I had very little gas or pain. I did have some trouble drinking anything other than water at first. The smell and taste of things were just overwhelming. But these days... not so bad. Now that I am able to get in pureed and soft foods I do not struggle with my protein shakes nearly as much. I went for my 2 week check up with my surgeon and I had lost 30 pounds. He was super stoked! I am walking 5 days a week and keeping my protein at least to 60 grams a day. Water is going well, although I do have to put some flavoring in there to keep my levels high enough. My question now is... I'm back to pooping, YAY, but... (sorry) some times it is a little hard to go. I have added some fiber in so that helped quite a bit... but now, I have to put a little effort in to going. It's not hard in texture... just not really willing to come out. Kinda like shoving a baby bird out of the nest for the first time... HA! It wants to go... but it's kinda scared... so the mama has to pu**** (Yes, I did just create a metaphor for pooping)
So any suggestions?
thanks for your encouragement. I am due to be sleeved on 6/2 and I am not doing well on the 2 week shake soup, sugar free jello and popsicle diet. My first shake I am fine but then the second shake my stomach gets upset. 30lbs in 2 weeks after surgery is such a great thing and I hope that I am that successfull.

My surgeon did a 10 day diet prior to surgery. 6 days of high protein/low carb and then 3 days of clear liquids and protein shakes and finally one day of clear liquids only (plus a colon cleanse). The first few days were rough coming off caffeine and refined products (flour, sugar, etc.). But then... it was much easier. After surgery... I didn't want anything. So it was a struggle to get the shakes in... but they started giving me more energy and I started feeling better...
Hang in there! It will all come together!!!
OK... so I am doing a small fiber supplement... you think I need to add a little more? I probably need to keep my water up as well. Most days are good but I had a day or two of "so-so" days.
Ohhhhhh.... Yep. I'm eating pretty much just like that. So gummies not sufficient right now. Gonna get some Benefiber!😊
I use 2T of benefiber every day as well as a dose of miralax. That keeps everything moving well.
