June 2nd!

Does anyone else have their surgery on June 2nd? Mine is scheduled for that day. I am very nervous, but excited. I've never had surgery before, been under anesthesia, or even been inpatient at any hospital. This will all be new for me. I started my 10 day pre-op diet yesterday. It consists of three protein drinks a day, three of any of the following: 1/2 cup 1% or skim milk, lite yogurt, or 1/2 cup lowfat cottage cheese, one cup of non-starchy veggies a day, and as much as I want of clear liquids like broth, sugar free jello (of course...because I don't like jello...lol), sugar free popsicles, etc. That kind of sucks, but I guess it could be worse.
Anyway, I thought I would introduce myself and see who else shares a surgery date. My name is Erin! Nice to meet you!
I hate jello too. :P

I am very happy to hear that. I had a bad experience with anesthia during a pre-op test and it didn't work and it was traumatic. I plan to tell the anesthesiologist that and to make sure I am out, but it's kinda scary!
Thank you!

I am happy to hear from another June 2nd. It's nice to meet you too. It is still major surgery, so I guess we're all going to be nervous anyway. :)

That is somewhat a concern of mine too. I just tell myself as long as I do my part eating how I am supposed to and getting the exercise, I have to lose at least some my weight. I sit here sometimes and try to imagine what it will be like to lose the weight and be smaller. I've always been obese. I just kind of pu**** out my head and try to take it one step at a time.
