Define over eating ??
i had DS (whi*****ludes a sleeve stomach)....for me over eating means eating more than 4 oz (1/2 cup) at one time. Especially early on, you definitely do not have the capacity for much more.... if you try to eat more you will likely feel sick and might need to throw it up.

Over eating is how most of us got fat.
- Content..... meaning to many calories.
- Quantity..... meaning to much volume.
The key to successful sleeve eating is to eat fixed/measured amounts that is "under" your sleeve capacity. "Under Eat your sleeve"
Physical signals that you ate to much or to fast are:
hicups
sneezing
runny nose
feeling food at your throat
pain/discomfort
slimeys

Thanks for pointing these out. It is too easy to accept at least some of these (hiccups and sneezing) as a part of a new normal instead of proof positive that I am eating too fast. Such a process!

For me it's simple, it means eating more than my plan allows. It has nothing to do with what my stomach can hold, or how full/not full I feel. Overeating is simply eating more than I'm supposed to.

Overeating as others have posted means different things depending on your plan and what you are talking about.
Grazing can can lead to over eating in terms of number of calories. Also eating high calorie slider foods will do the same.
Eating too too much in volume until you are full or in discomfort is also overeating. I think we all have done this. It isn't fun and is a bad habit.
I think we all know what overeating is and what it means to each of us within our individual post op plans. For me it is eating more than 4 oz of protein in one meal. It is snacking too much and on high calorie foods (nuts, cheese, raisins, dates.. that kind of stuff) or it is having more simple carbs than I allow myself. Ultimately if you are overeating it will either be uncomfortable or even painful or it will show up on the scale. By the time it shows on the scale it means you have been doing it for too long!
Best strategy not to overeat for me has been to weigh and measure my portions and stick to that. Sometimes I will weigh out my 4 oz of chicken or fish or whatever and then take half an oz off of my plate on purpose. Under eating is better than over eating.
