Constipation
I put Miralax into my shake most mornings. It's non habit forming and safe for longterm use.

I have never had an issue with constipation until my preop diet and after surgery! It is horribly uncomfortable. While doing the preop I found that taking Colace helped after a few days doses..but before that it was a struggle..tried suppositories, Milk of Magnesia and finally a Fleet enema. Since surgery I couldn't take the Colace capsules by order of the surgeon as they do not go down in the new sleeve well..was told I could take liquid Colace...OMG never ever again..was the worse tasting thing I've ever put in my mouth..was gagging and couldn't get the taste out of my mouth. I called the surgeon again and was told to eat blueberries everyday and add Milk of Magnesium if needed. This did the trick within a couple of days. I was already on the pureed stage so just need to mash well or chew till mush. I eat 1/4 c as a snack or added to mushy cereal. Hope this helps you!
Three plus years out I still deal with it. I have to take a stool softener every day (and it's still pretty bad). I often will supplement the stool softener with a healthy dose of generic Miralax. That really works well. I found that products like Benefiber and Metamuscil made it worse. Just bulked it up.
You need a flashlight, mirror, and sharp knife. Then do a YouTube search for "episiotomy."
