2 week stall
I bet it will happen soon enough? Surgical head nurse told me to not weigh myself for at least 3 weeks (I couldn't rest BTW). Water retention is common for at least 3 weeks or more? Everyone is different and have different reactions. All comments I have read say that it will work 100% of the time as long as you follow the diet and exercise? surgery will simply prevent overeating, as a tool only.

Stalls are completely normal throughout this entire process. Stick to your plan and you'll reach your goals. It's a marathon, not a sprint :)

You are less than a month out -- you don't get to call anything a "stall" until you've had a good 8 weeks without the scale moving at all. What you are experiencing is totally normal and natural. It doesn't mean you're doing something wrong...or that your sleeve isn't tight enough...or that you "broke it"...or that the surgery won't work for you.
The fact that you have upped your exercise gives a clue to what's probably happening. Anytime you up your exercise it creates extra inflammation in the body for awhile. And when that happens your body hangs onto water for dear life. A half gallon of water weighs 4 lbs. (I must have typed this explanation a 100 times over the last two years - does no one read my stuff!). So you may actually be losing FAT even though the scale isn't moving. And that's the goal anyway.
Take your measurements and when the scale gets "stuck" in the future check to see if you are dropping inches instead of pounds. That indicates you are losing FAT and retaining water. Not a bad thing at all

Just about EVERYBODY goes through a stall at 2 or 3 weeks in. Trust me.
Your body is catching up to the changes of surgery. Have patience and keep doing what you're doing.

Use the search function to read literally hundreds of people asking why loss has apparently stopped a few weeks out, as the many hundreds of replies will reassure you, it is normal.
Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
Please don't discount the fact that you had major surgery less than a month ago & your body needs time to heal & get its groove back. Exercise is good for the body but you can't exercise your way to thin, its what you eat that matters most.
Stick to your Drs plan for you & the weight will eventually come off. BE PATIENT….

I had surgery on 4/29 and essentially have lost nothing since. My surgeon required clear liquids + 4 protein shakes per day for the first two weeks. I have JUST graduated to soft food diet in the last few days. I have been a very diligent patient in following directions.
I'm choosing to trust the process. I had quite a bit of weight loss prior to surgery (6 month monitored program for insurance) and they think my body is just stunned by surgery. I guess it isn't unheard of. I can definitely tell that the inches are flying off and my body is changing.
It sucks. It's hard not compare myself to other people were are losing so much right after surgery but this weight has no choice but to be beaten into submission at some point.
