I am 5 months post op VSG. On Wednesday I had an unrelated surgery and since then have had troubles eating and drinking. Everything I eat or drink feels "stuck" in my esophagus. They said they would be putting a tube down my throat when they put me to sleep. Do you think that could be it? Just irritation from the tube? And that maybe it will get better after a few days? Has anyone else had this happen?

depends on how long ago the surgery was if it was this week , it could just be sore , you could call your surgeon and ask

That seems pretty possible.  You should call your surgeon and ask to be sure!

Sounds right to me but as others said if you have concern call the surgeon who did the last surgery and ask him. It is very common tho for the tube they use to cause irritation in your throat.

Thanks guys. I didnt call him because hes not the easiest to get ahold of and his office staff is ridiculous. (I was scheduled a couple weeks ago and called 2 day in a row to make sure the surgery could still be done since i had started my period and they never called back. So i show up to the hospital , they get me ready to wheel into surgery, IV and all, and the dr walks in and says "i cant do the surgery. Didnt my office call you?") So i didnt figure there was a need to call.
