Newly sleeved question
I'm sure this is normal..but wondering how long before the discomfort of putting anything in your sleeve goes away? Feel everything going down the sleeve..it's uncomfortable! I'm not eating more than 1/4c of yogurt or a 1 cup protein shake over an hour.
You were just Sleeved 6 days ago? You're still in that timeframe that it does feel uncomfortable. Don't push yourself, take it slow and just listen to your body. It does get better.

Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.
I'm 18 days post-op and although I'm sure everyone has a different experience, I stopped feeling that way about 2 weeks post-op for liquids. I'm on pureed foods, so don't have experience beyond that.

Thanks everyone!!! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong..sure feels like a full time job just to get in 400-500cals in..never mind enough water hahaha
Thank you..I am on full fluids but it includes greek yogurt, unsweetened apple sauce, cream of wheat and low fat cream soups..as long as there are no lumps and is thinned a bit with skim milk...at this point even small sips of water..by the third sip I get this discomfort! Oh well sounds like it is totally to be expected :-)
For me it was one of those things that I can't pinpoint. There was just a day where I had the realization that I felt great and had been feeling great for a while :)

Everyone heals differently after surgery, so it's hard to give an accurate answer. I would say for me it was when I finally felt the actual restriction, probably around five weeks post surgery.
Just think of your new stomach being swollen and irritated by the surgery. It can't tolerate very much inside it right now. If you get that uncomfortable feeling, get up and walk around. That seems to help me.
And above all else, please make sure that you get in at least 64 ounces of fluids per day. Dehydration is a big risk for us and you don't want to end up in the ER with an IV for fluids. Hang in there. It gets much, much better.
