Huge week for me! SV and NSV

First, I graduate with my Masters degree this Saturday. My goal has been to get to 185 by then and right now, I am sitting at 181! I even had to exchange my XL robe for a regular one! Woo hoo! That was such an awesome feeling to not need the bigger robe. And when I went to buy my dress to wear Saturday, I was shocked when a size 14 was too big. I am now a size 12!!!! I never thought I would see that number gain.

Then today I did something I have been wanting to try forever but have been to scared. I went boxing! I started with a new trainer and I was certain that I would not be able to complete the workout. Not only did I complete it, but he said I did really well and he was impressed with me. I am going to start seeing him 3x a week and try and not just lose this weight but gain lots of muscle. I am exhausted and it was really hard, but I didn't give up and I finished EVERYTHING he asked me to do.

Super awesome!  That's all great news!  You must feel SUPER proud of yourself and you deserve to feel that way!

Thanks! I do feel proud. I still have a long way to go, but I am so excited with my progress so far!

Weeks like yours don't come along very often. Congrats on completing the requirements for your Master's, needing a smaller size robe and dress, and learning how to box. Don't get hurt!

Thanks! Boxing was really fun and it was really more of the trainer teaching me how to hit rather than him hitting me.

Thanks so much! I got my Masters in Clinical Social Work. Now I just need to take the licensing exam and get my clinical hours so I can practice independently.

Funny you got your degree in Social Work! I just retired after 27 years in the field, but I always worked for others.

That is great that you are going out on your own. When I started back in the Stone Ages you did not always have to have a Masters if someone above you signed off on your charts w/a Masters or PHd. I was certified, but not at a Master's level.

Managed Care (insurance companies  changed the entire landscape of the field. I decided to get out from counseling when early on they used to 'dictate' how many sessions a client could be seen based on their progress!

Ridiculous! I often compare it to the excessive hoop jumping we need to go thru for WLS since it is relatively 'new.'

Anyhow, I'm rambling! My point is if I had to do it over again I would have gotten the Masters and/or LCSW and hung my own shingle. So many more perks and less hassles when the business is your own.
