Hunger Day After Surgery??

I had my lapband removed because it slipped. The first few days after surgery I had no hunger at all.

I just had my revision to a sleeve last morning, and I was hungry last night and still kinda am...

So my question isn't what it could go. I want to know specifically if this could mean the surgeon didn't remove enough of my stomach??

This is totally normal after surgery, actually, and it's normally a result of stomach acid.  Are you taking a PPI such as prilosec or nexium?  If you aren't, start taking one.  If you are, talk to your surgeon about taking a stronger one.  The reasoning I've heard, which makes sense, is that our stomachs are making enough acid for a normal sized stomach still, which is too much for our new stomachs.  I had to take a PPI for about 2-3 months post-op and now I just take Nexium for two weeks every so often if I start feeling unusually hungry again.

Also, make sure you're drinking plenty of water!

I've also read that there is still a certain amount of grehlin left in your system that is still working its way through and for a few days after surgery you will still have that hunger signal from it but it should lessen as time goes on.
