Insurance Nighmare

Honestly, I did not think about any of that! I appreciate the input. I guess I should call the insurance company and tell them that I am going to do self pay and ask about complications? I have had surgeries before ( 2 cysts ovarian cysts removed and my gal bladder removed) with no complications BUT you never know. 

You may be able to purchase complication insurance from your surgeon.  Pretty safe to say that if your insurance does not cover wls, it won't cover complications.  I learned the hard way when my band went south and I spent seven weeks hospitalized.  My bill was over $750,000.  Thank God my husband's insurance paid or we would be homeless and bankrupt.
