NSV in the Fitting Room
We moved 18 months ago & I cleaned my closet out of most of my "someday I'll get thin enough to wear these" clothes. Thankfully I saved a few things & now even my "skinny pants" are starting to get very baggy & I need a belt to hold them up. I went to the store today & tried on a few things, but left the fitting room without anything. The great news was that I left without anything because everything I tried on was too big and it's usually the other way around. At that point, I decided that I'd wait until "Onderland" which is 6 lbs. away.

What a wonderful feeling! Now you are on your way to Onederland! So many good things happening to you. Take care!
Congrats!

As I went down in sizes I would buy two or three pairs of basic black pants in my new size and just pair them with some inexpensive (CUTE and FITTED) new tops for work. I figure I worked too hard to lose this weight and I want to show it off! I did most of my shopping at discount places (like ROSS and MARSHALL's).
I also found a local consignment shop that would let me trade in my nicer old clothing for "store credit" to get stuff that fit better. I also sold some of my very nice things through another consignment shop. All the other stuff I donated and wrote the donations off my taxes.
A few weeks ago I went to get pants at Dress Barn and had to tell the sales lady "I think I need a size 4, this size 6 is too big" and then I thought, "WOW I can't believe that just came out of my mouth!"
Thanks for everyone's well wishes and advice. I think I wore a size 6 for about five minutes. Marshall's (& TJMaxx) is my favorite store(s) for many, many years and that's where I was today. Later in the day, I ended going back to a different Marshall's, with my daughter, & found a nice top to go with a pair of capris that I had bought at Walmart. Now I'm all set for a Friday night outing.
Right now I'm not working so new work clothes aren't a priority. I have a friend coming by to see if she wants any of my work tops & pants and if not, they go to charity. The consignment stores in this area want fairly new stuff.
I got a lot of things at Goodwill, as I lost, because it got expensive to buy new things so frequently. I need petite length pants, and eventually did find some at Goodwill, but I did buy regular and black jeans at Wally World too, as the price was reasonable. I got lots of nice things at Goodwill, and continue to check them out every so often - LL Bean, Eddie Bauer, etc. My drawers and side of the closet are getting filled a little more, but at one point, after I cleaned out my big clothes, there was almost nothing! I'm more comfortable shopping for better quality clothes, because I know they'll fit for a long time. Now, I have even have some jeans and a couple of tops that I bought new, wearing out, as I've stayed basically the same size for almost 3 years. Feels so good!
