I lied today...

This is always a hotly debated topic on the forum.  This is only my opinion, but I will never lie about having WLS.  I don't advertise it, but if someone asks I will always tell the truth.  Especially in a work environment as your credibility is at risk if/when they find out you lied.

If you decide that you don't want to disclose it, it's better to deflect than lie.  Gwen gave you some good ways to address the question in the future.  You cannot control what they will assume.

There is such a stigma about being fat and having surgery.  I believe that this will continue unless we stand up and wear what we did proudly.  There's nothing to be ashamed of.  Who cares if other people have gained back their weight and people talk about them?
