Vacation NSVs!
I was on vacation last week and went to an amusement park for the first time in a REALLY long time. I fit on all of the rides with ease (even though I am not finished losing weight). That is my first NSV. Then my husband, who has always been very physically fit, told me that I wore him out by walking so much at the park. SO grateful for this surgery!!
We spent last week at Disney World and while on Splash Mountain, I kept trying to pull the bar all the way to my stomach and it wouldn't go and I couldn't figure out why and my husband said "quit pulling on that, you are squishing me". I was so excited that he was the reason it wouldn't go any further and not me. lol
I had surgery last June and we took our daughters on a cruise for Christmas. My husband and I really enjoy cruising and I was worried about handling all the FOOD. I did great and did not gain anything. I avoided the buffet and ate as many meals as I could in the formal dining room where they tend to serve smaller portions. I also worked with my family, sharing what I could not eat with them, splitting things with them, and they were very nice about giving me a one bite "taste" of many things I did not have the "room" to eat myself. ALSO, for the FIRST TIME in all the cruises I have taken I worked out at the GYM! That felt real good.
I also had surgery last June and am looking forward to a cruise just after Thanksgiving. I am so worried about eating and gaining weight. I have been on several cruises in the past and am totally aware of the endless amount of food and beverages that are available. When I booked my cruise, one thing I did was to notify them that I had WLS so that it could be noted on my booking and I would be able to get small servings in the formal dining room. I also have checked out the gym (as much as possible online), as I plan on starting my days there or on the track. Any advice or hints that will help to make my trip a diet success would be greatly appreciated. Have walking and swimming excursions booked to help keep my activity level up. To feel that my vacation is a diet success is to not gain any weight. It would be my first cruise at not gaining weight and that is a big thing to me.
I love it! xoxo
