What a great post Gwen. You're so into fitness already so I think you'd make a great instructor. Good luck in college & your future runs! Hope all goes well with your Dad. You really are inspirational.

Thank you for all of these good wishes!  It would be sort of cool if I could inspire someone who started where I was 15 months ago, right?

GWEN!  That's so awesome.  I can totally relate.  I thought I was living life, but now I see that I wasn't fully living life.  I love that you have had so many new experiences and epiphanies!  And getting a job in the fitness field is incredible.  You do so many classes - why not teach them and get paid for it?  That's awesome.  Don't be scared or intimidated about school - I think the adult learners are often the best students because they actually give a **** as opposed to the 19 year old who is thinking about $5 pitchers at Dunbar's that night :)  You will do great!  This post makes me smile so big!

That being said, i am sorry about your father.  That's very stressful.  You are juggling a lot.  Take care of yourself.

Seriously!  It would be cool to make fitness a career - I'd never have to figure out how to fit it into my workday since it would BE my workday.  I'm so clever ;)

I think I'm just worried about doing the school thing.  Do I even remember how to student?  Yikes.  But I'm not going to try to place out of anything based on my knowledge from 20 years ago, so I should get some good refreshers.

I've been trying to take care of myself but it's challenging for sure.  In the past, I probably would have had a pint (or three) of Ben and Jerrys after each visit to help them.  Now I think I've just signed up for races....

I was a non traditional student and would never have succeeded right out of High School.  I say go for it.  Love your posts.  Continue to inspire us.  Take care of yourself.

Thanks so much!  I heard on the news the other day that "non-tradiational" students are becoming the norm!  I'm super excited - I register for classes on Friday and want to start NOW, but classes don't start until September.  Sigh.

Great post!  I needed this today, as I am going through some relationship struggles with my DH that I never expected to have.  But your post reminded me that I am in a much stronger place than I was, and if my life upheaves then there are new opportunities waiting.  Congratulations on all you've accomplished and good luck with your new endeavors, I am sure you will continue to be amazing!  Best wishes for your dad!
