Stomach indentation .... 4 days post-op question
I've noticed that I have quite an indentation by the incision where they take your remaining stomach out. I can't tell if it's a true indentation or if I'm just swollen around that area (could be a combo). It looks odd but incisions look great. Is this normal? Hoping it all looks the same at some point.

I don't have a hard knot, but definitely the indentation. Have you asked your surgeon about the knot?

there are internal stitches around the incision and hold the skin down while the rest gets more swollen
call your surgeon and check with him
expect your belly to look like a rainbow some time in the first week or so from internal bruising work to the surface
Thank you. I plan to ask the surgeon about it on Thursday during my post-op check. The internal stitches makes a lot of sense. Appreciate the info! No rainbow yet but thanks for the head's up!

18 days out, and the largest incision is quite indented. The tissue underneath is starting to soften up now, but I imagine it will take some time for it to smooth out. I do plan to ask the surgeon about it just because I'm curious.
