Is my stomach and bowels suppose to feel this way?
I am 2 weeks post-op from my sleeve. When I ate breakfast this morning, I had a scrambled egg with ham and cheese. I ate slowly, chewed thoroughly and didn't drink anything until 40 minutes after I finished eating. After I started drinking, my bowels and stomach have rumbled and made noise and I feel like I am hungry. I just ate about 8 grams of protein and it had only been an hour since I had eaten when I noticed the commotion. Is that normal, does anyone else feel that way?

When I was 6 week post-op, my hunger returned, though not full force. I take 20mg of prescription anti-acid medication, but still feel hunger, especially in the evenings, when I must be extra careful. Eat high-quality lean protein supplemented with fresh vegetables and fruit, which I've found to be the most satisfying kind of food. Good luck!

Two things are you on an acid reducer? Acid can mimic hunger as can dehyratation. The other is once you can eat dense protein it will take longer for it to clear through your polyuric valve which means you will feel fuller longer.
For some, as the previous poster wrote, what feels like hunger can be an acid issue. Also, it is true about dense proteins. I was feeling more hungry as time went on, until I was cleared for regular foods. I have always experienced hunger since the surgery, but once I was able to eat dense proteins, the hunger came at the natural times, such as 3 or more hours after I ate. It will get better.
Some people think that their stomach rumbling is the same thing as "feeling hunger." A rumbly stomach no longer means hunger for you. It just means it's making noise.
If you're TRULY hungry, as others have said, it's most likely an acid issue. I am having AWFUL acid issues post-VSG myself. I'm 3 weeks out today.
