First day back to work

Need some advice. Today was my first day back to work. I just started phase 2 on Friday. During work, I felt winded and out of breath. My mouth was dry and I was drinking much more than I felt my stomach could hold 10+Oz within the hour. I was only standing in one location. I had a 1/2 a yogurt for breakfast so I had something in me. Has anyone ever experienced this? Can i do something to prevent this? Any advice would be appreciated

Just keep drinking water and getting your protein in.  The first week for me back at work I was as weak as a kitten.  I could have laid down at any moment and went for a nap. Be patient with yourself and rest as much as you can the first few days, your energy will return in a week or two.  Good luck.

You just had major abdominal surgery; exhaustion is to be expected for several weeks. The only advice is (1) soldier through it, or (2) take off more time from work, if you can, to recover at home.

I assume you had your surgery very recently. It took me six weeks to start feeling like myself again, but I'm 63 years old. Younger ones usually bounce back a little more quickly than that. Good luck.

I am 6-1/2 months out and I still do not have much energy.  As previously mentioned, drink your liquids, eat your proteins and definately take your vitamins.  I work too.  Just try to ease your way into it if you can or try not to put as much effort into it yet. Also, try to get as much sleep/rest as you can when you are not working.  Take care!
