My surgeon did not have me start vitamins until I was 2 weeks post-op. I was able to buy my vitamin and mineral supplements through the surgeon's office. Every day I take a chewable multi-vitamin and two calcium chews. I also take sub-lingual B12 3 times a week. Your nutritionist or surgeon should be able to tell you what kind of supplements you will need and when to start them.

"Live for what today has to offer, not for what yesterday has taken away."
Morning - Celebrate chewable grape multivitamin, Bariatric Advantage 500mg caramel calcium chewable
Afternoon - BA calcium, D3 5000 IU
Evening - Multivitamin, calcium chew
In addition, I take B1 and sublingual B12 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Immediately after surgery I was taking BA chewable iron before I went to bed. My irons levels have been in the very high range so my internist suggested that I stop taking them.
I was told to start taking my vitamins 1 week after surgery.
Hope this helps.

I'm in the first 8 weeks and my surgeon requires everything either be liquid or chewable.
Morning: 2 Flintstones complete chewable, B12 liquid (because it's berry and not cherry and I hate cherry)
Lunch: 1000 IU vitamin D soft gel (I bite it and spit out the outside) and an extra strength Tums
Night: 1000 IU vitamin D and an extra strength Tums
However, I haven't had my first lab draw yet to make sure all this is adequate. It is within what my surgeon suggests though. I like this combo because it's cheap, easy, and palatable.

I'm not a fan of the carbs/sugar in many chewables, so I don't take any. I only just started most of this regimen as I'm only a little over two weeks post-surgery. I know I'm taking the right things - just not sure my dose amounts are adequate yet. I'll have to get labs done in a few months and gauge whether I need to increase anything. (If anyone has any comments/feedback, happy to hear it, btw.)
