Okay ladies, I have a female question for you. I have read some posts of ladies that had not had their periods for awhile prior to surgery but started them back up after their surgery. Has the opposite happened to anyone? I started my last period the day after surgery (2/19). I had it for 7 days but now I am 22 days late (and there is NO WAY I'm preggos). I'm only 40 years old so I hope that I'm not starting early menopause. Up until now, I have been pretty normal (been off birth control for over a year now). Anyone else had this happen? If so, how long until you started back up?

From what I've read here it can mess them up for several months after surgery plus as you lose weight your hormones get all crazy and don't know what they are doing. So probably no reason to get the knitting out and prepare for grannyhood!

not only can you miss periods or have extra periods during your whole weight loss phase(it is not the surgery but the weight loss that courses it)

but you can not trust birth control pills or any other hormonal birth control most surgeons want you to use 2 forms of birth control

when your loosing  slows down it will get back to normal , maybe

Yup, I'm going through the same exact thing :) I did some research on these boards and found that this is perfectly normal. I just hope that when I finally have it, it's not horrible and making up for lost time!!! Ha!

My period has been an absolute crazy mess since my surgery on 3/23. Not only have I had an extra period but I've had spotting between the two.
