Fibromyalgia anyone else experience worsening pain while on preop diet or post surgery?
Really feeling uncomfortable these past few days...usually only notice this when the weather is changing lol..On day 6 of preop..wondered if the stress of a liquid pre op diet could throw me into a flare up?
I've had fibro for years and yes I've had somewhat of a flare up since surgery.
I really expected it with surgery, rapid weight loss and a marked increase in activity.
Im not experiencing large amounts of pain - until you poke me somewhere and then oh boy it stings. Of all things, it's my elbows at night that are killing me. Never had elbow issues before...
I was diagnosed with fibro about 20years ago so I've been through all sorts and don't medicate etc for it (medicines didn't Impact me much and I didn't like side effects), just live/deal with it. So I knew well ahead that my fibro was going to get worse before the weight loss and exercise makes it better.
Fibro is a cruel mistress that the things that make it better are the things that make it hurt the most.
Thanks for your reply, we sound very similar..I too was diagnosed about 20 years ago..it has come and gone over the years and rarely is so bad as to interfere with my day to day life..I only take Advil or Tylenol Muscle Pain once in a while. This last week has been a bit worse..I just was wondering what others have experienced.
For me, I have had less pain as my Post-Op time has continued. So far at 10 weeks out, I have lost 54 pounds (including Pre-Op loss). I am feeling so much better, and can now walk without pain. I hope you start feeling better too. :-) Kay
