Goal Updates for March
Another month, another goal update post. Here are my goals and my progress to date, how are your goals coming along?
1. Read at least 52 books - I’ve read 15 books so far. I haven’t gotten as much reading done as I’d like to while bouncing back and forth to PA, but I’m still getting some in. Radiation involves a lot of waiting, so hopefully I’ll finish a book or two this week and next. 29%
2. Watch at least 52 movies in the theater - I’ve seen 17 movies so far. 32%
3. Run at least 520 miles - 92 miles so far! Still a little bit behind, but I’m getting there. 17%
4. Log at least 15 minutes of exercise EVERY SINGLE DAY - 90 for 90! 24%
5. Start studying Aikido in May - So close!
6. Start working with a personal trainer in September - I had started using Fitstar at home, but that has fallen by the wayside due to traveling up to PA. I hope to start incorporating it next week once I’m home again.
7. Lose at least 26 pounds - 13.3 pounds lost. 51%
8. Complete at least 5 races - I’ve done two races so far and my next is in two weeks. Eek! 40%
9. Achieve half shoulder stand in yoga practice - I’m not working on this yet due to research telling me to wait until I’m no longer obese.
10. Continue monthly massages - 2 of 12 done. I’ll be getting my March massage after my next race in April. 16%
11. Continue mental therapy - Yup! I haven’t been able to see my therapist as often as I’d like, but I’m doing my best and she’s been able to fit me in when I have been home. Looking forward to getting back to this on a weekly basis.
All of my percentages should be around 25 at this point. Some are, some aren’t. Due to everything life has thrown at me in the last month, I’m pretty okay with March being a wash. I’m even okay with my weight at the end of March being the same as it was at the beginning of the month. My therapist reminds me that I won’t undo the previous 14 months of lifestyle building with one bad month, and I know she’s right. It’s so challenging for me to stay on track with my eating when I’m here in PA that I’m actually surprised I’m not ending the month higher than I started it. I am, however, ridiculously proud of myself for keeping up with my running and my daily exercise promise. #4 was definitely my stretch goal for the year and so far so good. I figure if I was able to keep it up this month, I’ll have no problem keeping it up for the rest of the year!

Your commitment and accountability are inspiring to me, Gwen. To set realistic and achievable goals, and then revisit them to track your progress is a great idea for all of us.
I know you're facing challenges right now and doing the best you can. You have such a healthy attitude about your progress. I admire you so much

Aw, thanks. I was hoping that some people would reply with their own goal progress.. now this post just looks like I'm bragging! :/
But, thank you. March sucked beyond reason, so I'm hopeful to get back on track in April.
