Puree food stage ideas please
has anyone tried peanut butter and whole wheat crackers as a source of protein on the puree' stage? Is this allowed? I know that peanut butter is allowed, but as far as the crackers im not really sure. They are a soft texture when they're wet. Any ideas? What did you guys eat? I hear the ricotta bake is good. I find myself preparing meals to wiz up only to eat a tablespoon or two... Is that the capacity that ill be able to eat forever? Only a couple spoonfuls? If not why is this happening?
I did not have a pureed stage but many are allowed grilled or baked tiplopia ( no you do not puree it just chew it well)
peanut butter and crackers are not a good idea high in fat and carbs and low in protien also high in calories

I wouldn't eat crackers because they're not a good source of protein, nor do they count as a pureed food.
I'm able to eat 4-6 ounces per meal right now. Your stomach is still healing, and likely swollen, which is why you can't eat much right now. But it's important now (and always will be) to measure your food so you don't overeat.

How are you measuring your portions? How much should I be eating?
I use a food scale. When I started with pureed foods I was eating 1-2 ounces per meal.
Do you not have guidelines from your surgeon about how to eat and how much?

I ate egg salad. (puree is kind of runny so you can use a little more REDUCED FAT mayo in it than you normally would) I also found that I could add some 'unflavored' isopure protein powder to it to increase the protein level even more.
You can add unflavored protein powder to a lot of things, just be aware, if you add TO MUCH it can make the item taste 'off'. I added some protein powder to sugar free puddings also.
Good Luck!
When I was on pureed with my band, and again soon with my sleeve, one of my favorite things was to take BBQ meat, such as pulled pork and puree it with a couple of tablespoons of bbq sauce. It tastes just as good as if it were not pureed. The same work with a rotisserie chicken like the ones they sell ready made in the grocery. I cannot wait for that (about 10 more days).
