Time to Eat???
Ok...I just want to get a feel on how people schedule their day. Do you have a set time that you try to eat everyday? If so, what does your schedule look like. Do you have a certain time at the end of the day that you do not eat past? With trying to get meals, snacks, water, vitamins, and exercise in I feel like I need about 8 to 10 hours added to the day.
I also have a crazy question....If they say do not take the multi-vitamin and calcium together because the iron in the multi will cancel out the calcium then why do they add calcium to the multi-vitamin? Things that make me go.....hmmmmm!!!

I'm a pretty scheduled person! Mine is pretty basic and easy to follow during the week because of work.
I arrive at work at 7:30 (I drink 16 ounces of water on my way in). I take my BC pill & Multi and eat my breakfast at 7:45. In between breakfast and snack I start on my next 15 ounces of water. Snack time is usually around 10:00. After snack I start my next 16 ounces off water and lunch is always at 12:30. Before lunch I take my calcium and prilosec. After lunch I start my next 16 ounces of water. Sometimes I do a 3:00 snack and sometimes I pass on it. Regardless of this I always have a 12 ounces green tea. For my drive home I prep another 16 ounces of water. Dinner can vary, but it will usually be anywhere from 5:30 - 7:00 and before bed time I finish my night off with more water and sometimes a sugar free Popsicle or diet swiss miss! Its the same thing everyday, but it works for me and it has paid off!! Weekends are more of a free for all and I really have to stay on top of my water!

I work a rotating 12hr shift, so there's no set time that I won't eat past, but I do set up a routine based on whether I'm on days or nights. Usually it's whenever I get up I'll have my Chike(protein coffee), some vitamins & work on water.
By the time I get to work, early in the day I'll eat some protein. Wait an hour, work on fluids again. Midafternoon meal or snack on protein. Wait again, work on fluids, usually coffee or tea, or I'll just work on this 36oz water jug that I keep in my locker.
Go home, eat again, wait a half hour to hour, drink a cup of tea., evening iron pill. Bed. When on nights, I keep to the same routine.

This is one of those things that makes me glad my plan is three meals a day with no snacks, since I'd feel like I was eating all the time if I had to snack!
I take iron separately at the end of the day, so I take calcium at the same time as my multi. Here's a normal day for me:
wake up
calcium #1
exercise
shower
protein shake (breakfast)
do stuff
lunch (around 1-3pm, depending on that day's stuff), calcium #2, multi #1
do more stuff
dinner (around 7-8pm, when dude gets home), calcium #3, multi #2, vit k, vit d3, probiotic
do even more stuff
bedtime (around 10-11pm), iron, vit c
That's a regular day in the life of me. My days haven't been very normal for the last month, but I can't wait until they are again!

My plan also only calls for 3 meals (unless you need to add something to get protein in). I too am so glad I'm not a big snacker now and I'd hate to have to plan snacks after surgery. I just want to say Gwen you are so helpful on this forum it's a good thing, as a soon to be sleeved person that I can read your wisdom. Thanks!!
I function best as a creature of habit. Weekends throw me off my normal schedule and are tough
8:30 Breakfast (multivitamin, calcium, D3)
11:30 Lunch (calcium)
3:30 Snack (Greek yogurt)
7:00 Dinner (multivitamin, calcium)
8:00 Exercise
9:30 Snack (blueberries)
I don't take iron anymore, but when I did I took it right before I went to bed so as not to interfere with the calcium. It took some time to work out the logistics of eating, taking vitamins, etc., but you'll work out what's best for you.

I'm really a vampire
I actually start around 8:00 but typed 9:00 instead. I'm not quite awake yet as it's only noon here.

vitamin manufacturers don't care if the iron cancels out the calcium. You didn't think they were in the business for our health did you?
