Gwen, I believe in you!  Please keep us updated on your progress.  Just be the best "you" that you can be and that's all that is required.  Wow, just wow - you are such an inspiration to us all!

Thank you!  Hopefully I'll still be inspirational after this race and not just a puddle on the side of a road.  :D

How exciting to read that you are challenging yourself like this. I remember in the beginning of my weight loss, I never thought I could run a mile. However, with the proper training and determination, I now run full marathons three years out. You got this!!!!! Believe in yourself and good luck.

The first time I ran a mile straight was an amazing day :D  And that first 5k?!  Wow.  What a high!  I can't imagine ever wanting to do marathons but, then again, a year ago I couldn't imagine wanting to run 5ks.  So who knows what the future will bring.

So true!  And I find paying for a race to be very motivational too.  Knowing I've spent money on a thing really makes me want to follow through.

You're  but in a great way

You can do this.  You have several months to prepare and you will continue to lose weight.  I think it's fantastic the physical challenges you've taken since you've had surgery.  This one sounds like a lot of fun.

I'm definitely crazy, oh yes.  Sometimes I worry about addiction to exercise but, right now, I think I'm okay?  I do know that I'm using exercise to cope with everything going on right now.  Which probably isn't super healthy, but it's better than turning to food.
