Since Greek Yogurt is on my liquids, do I still need to wait 30 mins after to drink water?

Our center said if it was the only way to get in that fluid OK.  But they preferred it be treated at a meal and to wait the 30 minutes after.

Since Greek yogurt isn't actually a liquid, even though it's allowed for you right now, I would definitely wait 30 minutes before drinking.

thank you.  Question for you Gwen.. My high protein low carb is in the form of protein shake.  What else is there which would be allowed on full liquid/liquid diet phase?

I also had strained soups that were high in protein in addition to protein shakes.

I would think a nutritionist would provide you with a complete list for each phase of the diets.  If not, ask them...that is why they are there.  Besides, as noted on this site, each surgeon is different when it comes to how they want you to eat.

I did get my little list with each phase.  Strained soup wasn't until this week.  I was limited to Gatorade, water, apple juice, water, clear broth or bouillon, crystal lite, sf kool-aid, dexaf tea and coffee, herbal tea, jello, sf carnation instant breakfast, sf popsicles..That is my list for the clear liquid phase.  So, I didn't have much option.  My list for this week includes thinned oatmeal, cream of wheat, thinned strained cream of soup, soft noodle soup, sf pudding grits, greek yogurt,  along with the protein shakes.  Next week is pureed and soft foods such as mashed potatoes (I know higher in the carbs) pureed turkey/chicken, baked potato or sweet potato, canned peaches/pears (in water), some dried beans, scrambled eggs/egg white/low fat cheese, soft vegetables, and so on.  So it does progress but not allowed a lot of high protein/low carb alternatives to start with.

You can also add a scoop of an unflavored protein powder to your liquids to up the protein. Careful about using it in hot liquids. They can't be anymore than 120 degrees. I used Syntrax Nectar Unflavored and was very happy with it. Tasteless and it added a creamy texture to my soups.
