VSG revision
I had a VSG four years ago in Feb., I can't believe that I waited so long to have it done. I lost beautifully in the beginning, then it stopped. I really believe that I have a metabolism issue (not medically proven), because I have not lost since. I was able to lose close to 100 lbs with surgery and pre-surgery liquid diet. My portions are small and I exercise as much as I can which is at least 5x a week and for no less than thirty minutes. I was wondering if anyone had a revision to a RNY after having the VSG? If so, what was your reason for having it? I am not sure what else I can do to get my weight loss to pick up again. I would welcome any suggestion for helping me to get the scale moving. I have had issues with re-flux in the past and was told if it didn't get better I would need to have a RNY.
Thanks y'all!!
I would suggest you measure and track all your food to see what you are really eating, bet more than you think
maybe a eating disorder therapist might help
sleeves don't stop working but it is easy to not use the tool correctly , go dig out you plan and get back to it
a rny is more likely to stop working after a year or 2 than a sleeve
if you need more help a ds might be a better option , you already have the sleeve half done and you will not have many of the eating problems many people with the rny have ( food getting stuck , not being able to eat some food , no nsaid pain killers )

My RNY is working just fine. I have NEVER had "food stuck". The foods I can't eat are actually foods I shouldn't eat anyway, like sugar and processed carbs. And the new recommendation is that NSAIDS should be avoided with any WLS. RNY has been a life saver for me and cured my GERD.
You should really stick to talking about what you know about your own VSG and stop spreading misinformation about RNY.

That's funny. My RNY is 9 years old and still working. Why would you think that any surgery would be likely to "stop working"?

Surgeries don't stop working. People do.

On what planet did you get this information? Seriously, you should only speak about your own surgery as you are clearly misinformed about the one I had. It is outrageous to give such misinformation - or at least post a link to the scientific studies that prove your point.
The OP clearly is eating more than she she needs to and has thrown herself into maintenance. She has been given great advice about how to deal with this issue and if an honest accounting shows that she needs needs more help from her tool then obviously the DS is the next step as she's already half way there.
Saying that the RNY is more likely to stop working after a year or two is utter crap.
