Liquids go down too easy?

I'm 12 days post op and I haven't really had any problems drinking either. My tummy doesn't like jello very much though I've noticed. I start pureed foods in a couple days and wonder how I'll do if jello doesn't even feel good. Makes me feel very full and just uncomfortable even just after 1-2 small bites. I guess we're very lucky we don't have problems with getting our fluids in.

Yes, I guess we are lucky.  I felt like I was doing something wrong, lol, just drinking with no issues. I haven't even got to progress to full liquids yet.  That is week 2 AND 3 for me sadly.  Jello has an odd consistency, it may just be one of those odd things that works for some and not others.  Eat some refried beans with sharp cheddar and salsa for me... it is one the things I am looking forward to. 

I am the same. I had trouble with water the first few days. But now I am drinking almost normally. I can't gulp, but I have had no issues drinking my 6 4 oz the last couple weeks.

I had no issues drinking from day one & I could easily get my liquids in. I mentioned to my nutritionist and she told me to make sure I didn't take big gulps, but just normal sips.

Same here..but did you guys watch a barium swallow test after your surgery?  I looked at mine with the radiologist, and I was really surprised.  Think of your stomach as a grinder/mixer.  Everything that goes in gets tossed and churned and mixed with enzymes and acid until it's broken down enough to move into the duodenum.  Any liquid you ingest helps with that process.

But...we were empty bc of surgery.  There's nothing to grind or mix.  So as soon as I swallowed the barium liquid, I saw it making its way into the duodenum.  Just that fast, and some was moving on... Totally unopposed.  Pretty cool, really...and just awesome that our bodies know exactly how to respond to any given state.  So I think we're normal.  :) :) :)
