Got Sleeved on 3/7 - is this fatigue normal?

Had my sleeve done in Mexico. It was a good experience, but I'm very happy to be home. I had a lot of nausea at first; that has dissipated. I am eating (liquids only) & drinking as instructed.

I feel extremely tired. I am forcing myself to walk around as much as possible, but after a few minutes I need to lay down. I basically get up to drink & pee & then need another nap. Is this normal?

I have pain meds but am not taking them unless needed (once a day or so). Other meds shouldn't be causing fatigue.

I had my sleeve done a month earlier. Yes, I was very tired too, it gets better each day and then each week. I remember doing the dishes and then I had to take a nap. Keep in mind, you had major surgery.

I only stopped napping in my 4d week post -op.

Being completely exhausted is absolutely normal. You've just been through major surgery and healing is hard work!

I slept for almost the entire time my first week post-op, save breaks for water and shuffling around the house. I felt like I'd been hit by a bus! I took a lot of naps for the next month or two, I felt lazy but that's what it took to keep my energy up.

Don't be afraid to take the pain meds if you think you need them, that's why they're there! They will probably make you sleepy as well, so take one and hop into bed.

Congrats on surgery, you'll do great!

I am also exhausted.  Just follow what your body tells you, I think rest and fluids will do it for me too!  My anti nausea meds made me extremely tired, but I am not on those now.  I think it is just a normal part of recovery from anesthesia and surgery.

You were sleeved just 4 days ago AND you traveled out of country for it.  Yup, perfectly normal!  Give yourself a couple weeks.  Sounds like you're doing fine

I think a lot of the tiredness that I experienced in the first month was due to my body adjusting to less food.  Food equals energy, so it took my body a bit of time to get used to the smaller amount.

not only have you just had major surgery but the anisedic and pain meds can stay in your system for a few weeks , making you tires and hazy

don't do any thing important without someone checking it , mistakes will happen

Totally normal!  You're still recovering from anesthesia and major surgery.  Be gentle with yourself.
