How were you at this stage??
I didn't have the issues you're describing. My nutritionist said that most post op problems with eating are people eating too much, too fast. If you're taking tiny amounts (baby spoon size) and still getting this feeling, check with your doc. You may have or be developing a stricture, which is scar tissue building up and blocking a passageway. They can fix it, but first you have to let them know you're having the problem!
It could also just be that your stomach is more swollen from the surgery than most and it's taking its own sweet time getting back to normal. Either way, call your medical team and let them know about it.
I was eating regular food at one mont out, just fine. These problems are really not oRMAL. I also agree with the possibility of a stricture.
The air ball that you mention sounds line refLux.
I didn't have a problem like you describe, but I do remember that my tummy would only hold about 1 to 1.5 ounces at 1 month post op. One ocean scallop was all I could eat. (I ate of lot of scallops back then. yum) I also couldn't process beef or chicken until the 2nd or third month. So try different foods, eat small meals, and consult your surgeon, in case he has concerns.
My capacity didn't go up until the swelling subsided in week 7 or 8.
best of luck,
Carol

Definitely check with your surgeon. I had similar issues around month 3 and needed to take an antispasmodic and revert my diet for 10 days. Your surgeon can help you!

Omg, I thought I was crazy! YES!!! when I swallow food, it seems like air is coming from below and meeting the food in my esophagus and it hurts soooo bad. I talked to the surgeon at the follow up and he says it's normal?
