HOW LONG DOES HAIR LOSS LAST?!
Mine started before surgery when I started my pre-op liquid diet. I have fine/thin hair anyway. I'm really scared what's going to happen around the 3 month mark when everyone else said they started noticing their hair loss. The Biotin will only help generate new growth. It will not help stop it from falling out. The good news is once it stops it will grow back.

My hair loss actually got worse in months 5-8, but that's not necessarily typical from what I read on here. I lost a LOT of hair (my hair guys estimates at least half of it).
Fortunately you have a lot of hair and more than likely you'll notice the shedding will decrease by month 5-6. That's what most people tend to report. By months 9-12 you should be back to normal.
It only lasts a couple of months. The biotin (and protein, and any other vitamin) will benefit the new growth pushing out the old and may give you some bonus hair on your chin and chest if you over-do with it. Go get a makeover with some nice layers to blend in the new growth about to emerge. You'll feel good about it.

Mine started around month 3 and slowed significant to by month 9-10. I got a pixie cut and it really helped me deal with it. And I'm keeping it now because it looks so good. Hello cheekbones!

Mine started shedding at 3-1/2 months post op. I noticed that my hair was growing back towards normal in the 9th month.
Biotin will not prevent the shedding. Google telogen effluvium to understand why you're going through this hair loss now. I tried taking biotin, but found that it grew more hair on my face than it did on my head so I stopped it.

My hair loss started at about 2.5 months post op and went thru maybe month 7 or 8. I remember in month 9 that I noticed a crop of short hair sticking straight up on my head. By one year, it was on its way to normal.
Try not to worry too much. It will pass soon enough.
