vsg mexico medical expense

Have you had vsg in mexico? were you able to use the expenses as a medical expense on your taxes in the US? 

i had VSG in Mexico, and I do plan on putting it on my taxes. From what I've researched; a medical expense is a medical expense no matter where you did it. as long as there is back up documentation to prove it if you had to, there shouldn't be an issue.

YES!!!!

My wife and I had VSG surgery in Mexico on September 1. We were able to deducted the cost of the surgery... and the travel expenses (gas, hotel, meals, airfare).

I had VSG surgery in Mexico on October 6th and yes, I do plan on putting it on my taxes.  I had it with Dr. Fernando Garcia and I am down 68lbs so far.  No regrets...
