Fat?

I know to keep my carbs under 30 grams a day, especially during the weight loss phase, but what about fat? How many grams of fat do/did you all try to stick to during your weight loss phase?

Thanks for the help!

I don't count fat. I count grams of protein and carbs and that is it. I know everyone is different and all plans differ.

Do you worry at all about your percentage of protein/carbs/fat?

Not at this point! I think I will more when maintenance comes into play!

I never counted fat or carbs; with whatever caloric restrictions and protein minima that we have, both fat and carbs are at such very low levels that we really don't need to worry much about them. In maintenance, I only look to keep the fats above 60g for the sake of fat soluble vitamin absorbancy and carbs are whatever they are after looking after the more essential micronutrients.

I don't limit my fat intake. Basically, I shoot for 60-80g of protein, less than 20g of carbs, and the rest comes from fat.

I eat full fat everything and cook with olive oil and butter.

This! ^^^^  I get so little fat in my diet on a regular basis that it started to affect my GI tract.  I had to start deliberately adding fat. Mostly good fats but I never turn away a piece of bacon!  Or two.

I have a calorie goal, and eat high protein. Everything else just falls into place. I don't eat low fat anything. Fat is more necessary than carbs, and will do a lot for your health.

I don't count grams of fat, per se.  I am trying to stay under a certain number of calories and carbs every day, along with lots of protein, of course.  So, staying under a calorie limit, makes me limit fat to a certain degree.  I try to have healthy fats, and use olive oil for cooking (though I do use a little butter too - it tastes so good!).  We've been making lots of guacamole lately, as I was pleasantly surprised at how relatively low in carbs and high in fiber avocados are.  A dollop of guacamole, a little salsa and a little sour cream on my taco salad (minus the tortilla bowl) is delicious and I don't need dressing.  Avocados are rich in good fats and taste yummy!  I do use reduced fat cheeses a lot, but I am rethinking this.  I think it would be healthier for me, overall, to use the full fat cheeses, but less of them.  It's all a process!
