Another reason VSG is better than RNY...

I had a rough couple of days in the hospital- but ended up waking up Wednesday and felt so much better. I was lucky and didn't have terrible gas. I still am dealing with feeling every sip I take- but it really is getting better- but I know how you feel. It did actually hurt for a little bit when the sips would go down, but I found if I was walking while I sipped it didn't hurt. So glad you are doing better!!

Thanks, I just coming in from my first outdoor walk. I only walked 10min due to strange dogs. I will go out again tomorrow. I also did not keep up with the breathing exercise, which caused my chest and back to hurt.

VSG is better than RNY... for your body and your situation, perhaps, it's all relative.

I agree- can I blame my post on pain meds? ;)

Dont feel bad about your post. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If the VSG worked for you then great, and if the RNY worked for someone else then great. There are pros and cons to both, and I am personally happy with my decision to have the VSG.

Never a good idea to think "my surgery is better than yours".  Chit can happen with any.  I love my sleeved stomach but I thank my lucky stars everyday.  People can have complications!  There is quite a number of Sleeves having to revise to an RNY because their reflux is unbearable completely unlivable to have.  A leak with a sleeve is quite bad - takes forever to heal from.  Then there are people who don't lose or regain it back.

I love my choice but I have nothing but respect for someone choosing something else.  You are early out. Chill.

All best

I don't know what I was thinking. In my brain, I was following up on a post I had a few months ago when I was questioning my decision to have the sleeve. Lesson learned. :)

Don't delete! This IS the VSG firum but lots of people read several boards. No surgery is perfect (and as a long term banded person, I know personally the horrors of surgery wars and would never start them!). No-one gets offended as long as posters make it clear that they are not simply dissing all other options and claiming their own surgery is the only sensible choice! We can all give horror stories about ALL surgeries,  VSG included!

Maybe your subject titie was a bit inflammatory!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
