800 in the beginning....800 16 weeks out!  It's more about your protein goals (60-100 daily) and your water goals (64+ daily) than the calories, but I still try and keep it real close to 800.  My NUT said I could go to 1000-1200, but I'm not ready for that, yet!

I do really well with my protien. I hit about 70g a day. The water usually 60-70 ounces. I'm just surprised with how slow I'm losing weight and I'm only doing about 450-550 calories a day...

Hello Klynn92, I had the same question and there were some really good replies to me on the WLS Lightweights page:  Under "Why is the scale moving the wrong way" Keep your chin up, it might take us a little longer but we'll get there!  Check out all the great responses I received...one in particular says protein should be 80-100 grams/day.

My NUT didn't want me to worry about calories that early post op. We're not eating that much and its mostly soft foods and very little. Be sure that you're still drinking all your liquids and proteins.

I am 11 1/2 weeks. I seem to lose better at 800 calories, 80 to 100 grams of protein and 80 plus oz of water.
