Is Physical Hunger Normal?

Definitely ask your surgeon about a PPI which is not just for GERD, I was prescribed Nexium for six weeks after surgery to help heal and restore the stomach lining and to prevent even a normal production of acid during the first critical healing phase - acid which can mimic hunger or just hinder in the healing of the staple line and the rest. 

I am sorry you are feeling the physical hunger. My surgeon said that as Grehlin is produced not just in the stomach, some VSGers don't lose the hunger sensation. With solids you should feel satiated easier. Wish you the best.
