Hi Im being sleeved on Monday, March 9th.  I know everyone is different but could you tell me the average healing time.  My son is playing a very important hockey game that Friday and was wondering if I will be able to make it.  Its about and hour and a half ride in the car.

I would think so. I attended a concert for my daughter one week post op. I was uncomfortable and had to stand then sit .... But I made it.

My surgeon told me two weeks for going back to work.  But I did go to a movie about a week post-op and was fine sitting in the car there and back as well as sitting through the movie.  Be aware that it's common to have "liquid in/liquid out" during the post-op liquid phase so you might want to get a seat on the end in case you have to run to the bathroom!

My first grandson was born the day I was released from the hospital, 90 miles from where I live. I went to see him  the next day. It was an hour and a half ride one way, my husband drove, and we stopped along the way to buy a few more baby gifts. We were gone a total of 8 hours and I was definitely ready to head to bed when I got home but was otherwise fine. I took my protein drinks with me, hubby stopped for bathroom breaks often, and it felt pretty good to walk from the car to the hospital room. I did stop to rest halfway there, though. I would go for it if you don't have any complications with surgery.

I was sleeved on a Monday and went into NYC (about 1 hour drive) to see a Broadway show on Friday. I felt fine, but make sure to bring fluids to drink. Good luck!
