I'll add my babble to the end of this post..

1: frankenshake
2: leftover spinach salad without the spinach (I used to have issues with leafy greens and it seems that I still do if I have them for FOUR DAYS IN A ROW.  So no spinach for me today.)
3: baked chicken breasts with parmesan-garlic crust x2, tomato basil mozz salad

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: 65 minutes yoga (15 min morning stretches for back pain, 60 min beginner combination), 7 minutes FitStar (fit test), 10 minutes meditation (Headspace 1/10)

I'm currently trying new things for my body and mind. Last night I had my first DMT (dance movement therapy) session and it was interesting and challenging. I get the goal and why the activities she's having me do will help me to reach my goal, but it's definitely significantly outside my comfort zone in a big way.

Due to DMT, I decided to give meditation a go. I'm not good at calming my mind, but I think I need to improve. I found https://www.headspace.com and downloaded that app. I went through the first session today and I think it'll be really good. The paid subscriptions are a bit on the pricey side, but I'll go through the free sessions for a month or so before I make the purchase. I know that one of my uncles meditates, so maybe I'll be able to talk with him about meditation when I see him in July.

I've also been thinking about incorporating strength training into my life beyond just physical therapy exercises. I'd like to start weight lifting with a personal trainer at the gym, but I'm a) a bit nervous and b) a bit broke. After a bit of research I found http://fitstar.com and it looks like it'll be really great for me, at least to get started. After signing up you do a fit test and rank how hard/easy the exercises were. Then it creates "custom" workouts for you where you continue to rate your experience with each exercise so it can continue to customize based on your ability. Seems pretty awesome! The free version gives you access to two custom workouts a week and the paid version is only $30/year which is very reasonable. Again, I'll try it out for a month before I make the purchase. (My birthday present to myself might be health app subscriptions!)

Hey all, I love the "whatcha eating" posts. But I was wondering HOW MUCH of these foods are you having? Would anyone mind using measurements when writing out their intake so some of us who are in the beginning can get an idea of portion/food volume? Thank you so much in advance!

I weigh my meals to be 4-5 ounces each.  Except for my shake, that's 8 ounces of almond milk plus all the powders.

Hope this helps!

Interesting! I didn't think to weigh meals, just stick to the calories and protein. But that's a good way of looking at it. Thank you so much.

You're welcome!  That's the way my surgeon's plan works.  I've got a guideline for how often to eat and for how big my meals should be and, aside from that, I only have a protein goal and a liquid goal.

That's a good idea, I always debate if I should write portions or not. :)

I feel like salad dressing is one of those things where you're better off making your own.  A lot of the "lite" ones replace the fat with sugar to make them taste good :(
