Water/Liquid Question
Actually, I have been drinking 48-64 oz of water for years, knowing that it was a healthy thing to do. Perhaps, that is why I was able to get back up to 64 oz of water by a week post-op, though it takes me longer to get it in now. :-)

Another reason for our increased need for water intake is that we are eating a protein-heavy diet. If protein is taking up a greater portion of our caloric intake, it is usually at the expense of fiber. The body has to use more water in the digestion process, increasing the amount you need to take in.
