Hi everyone, I had my sleeve on 2/12 I went for my post op ck today and I have lost 12 lbs.  This surgery saved my life and I was a little on the fence about it. However, having just seen my dr he said that the excised stomach was sent to pathology and found pre-cancerous cells in my stomach. My dr. saved my life, I'm on med's for that now and I will continue to follow thru with all of his recommendations. I mentioned previously that my mom died of stomach cancer 1 1/2 yrs ago. I can't thank him enuf for taking such good care of me. I was given rx for pain, acid, etc. Never needed take the daulid for pain. I am one lucky gal. cancer caught in time unlike my mom, when we found out about her stomach cancer she was at stage 4. Thank you all for listening. No problems otherwise to report, yes I have anxiety and was asking to go home a lot. I went in last thurs at 8, a lot of hurry up and wait, in OR at 11  in recovery at 1. Friday am down for swallow test, then back to room, they gave us liquid diet for bkft, lunch, now I' really ready to go home, dinner tray comes up and I called and asked my dr to get me out of there. I was discharged at 7 pm Friday nite. sat sore in the belly but still didn't take pain meds. up and about every day each day able to to a little more, he said when I feel strong enuf, head back to gym get that cardio in and rest. can't ride my horse for at least 4 weeks. Again I thank all the people who answered all my pre surg questions and I wish the best to each and every one of you. Everything happens for a reason, thank god I had the surgery, it probably will save my life, although I said I didn't have huge amounts of wt to lose as some do but I gained my life. Tired now going down for a nap. Have a good day.

Take your time and heal up - easy on the exercise. Most of us are ok for cardio and weights at 6 weeks post op. Walking earlier. Have not heard of any being cleared at a few days post op. I would reconfirm that with your surgeon just to be on the safe side. You just had major surgery - even if you have a good and easy recovery it really is still quite a big deal this VSG! So give yourself time to heal.

I've also never heard of anyone having to wait 10 days for walking.  That seems unusual!

Ah, your reply made it sound like you weren't allowed to walk for 10 days. Glad to know I misread.
