Fat Tuesday

Here in Michigan it's known as Paczki Day!! This is my firs Fat Tuesday since I have been sleeved! Being a Pol it's a right of passage to not only have one, but two Paczki's on Fat Tuesday!! I'm happy to say that I'm not even tempted! I still carried on my families tradition of getting up early and heading down to the bakery to purchase Paczki! I still had fun waiting in line and enjoying the Polka band!

Life goes on after the sleeve and I can still enjoy mysefl without an 800 calories treat!!

I prefer skinny Tuesday (and wednesday, thursday etc. )  haha!  

I live in a polish neighborhood in Chicago and the paczki's are going like crazy!

I'm in the Chicago area too. It seemed like every department at work had a box full of Paczki's for the taking. Last year I probably would have sampled a few different ones. I'm happy to report I made it through the day without having any. Yeah!

I broke down and had some king cake -- omg I could taste the sugar granules.  Wow.  I was hyped up the rest of the afternoon.

I grew up in New Orleans and I found it really hard to walk by the King Cakes at the store yesterday! It's always something, some celebration, some tradition, some holiday, some excuse! Still enjoying myself without that sugary treat! 

I have seen kings cakes in the past and have been tempted, but never tried one! 

I had never heard of a Paczki before and had to go look it up. Pretty sure it's a good thing that I hadn't stumbled across these pre-surgery :)

Lol! They are pretty good, like a richer better tasting jelly donut!

I went to the store early this am to get my boys some.  I had a 1/2 blueberry (my favorite) staring at me when they left for school.  Happy to report that I opted for cottage cheese and blueberries instead.  

Last year I would have eaten (and did) 2.  I love my sleeve!
