3 days post op.. When will the hunger pains end?!
Oneilch...what week are you on. Last week was my third week when I graduated to pureed foods. Unfortunately, I found out I don't like them. I am calling my Nutritionist tomorrow to see if I can graduate to soft foods such as ricotta and scrambled eggs. :-)

They are driving me nuts!!! I feel famished. My boyfriend had a turkey bacon sand which on an onion roll.. And I kept kissing him so I could try and taste it. I still can't believe how hungry I have been! Wednesday I can have ricotta cheese.. ( not purée stage yet) but can have pudding, yogurt, puréed bananas and ricotta.. Maybe that will help. Any suggestions of getting through the first week?!
dehydration causes hunger feelings. How much fluid are you getting every day?

Don't confuse a noisy stomach for hunger, Your newly, shaped stomach is going to make a lot of noise. The growling, noisy stomach is normal ( just use the search function and you'll see how many people post about noisy stomachs). It's NOT hunger. You are likely experiencing head hunger. Pain in your chest could be trapped gas from the surgery. 48 ounces of fluid is not enough. 64 ounces is the MINIMUM amount you should be striving for. I drink 120 ounces daily in order for my body to function well. Thirst sometimes registers as hunger. The nerves in your stomach have been cut and are not sending the right messages to the brain. Try drinking something when you feel hunger.
Be happy you can have ricotta and pureed foods so soon. I could only have Protein Shakes the first two weeks. Then was able to add pureed foods for the third week (which I don't really like). I am really hoping I can add scrambled eggs and ricotta this week. :-) LM
