6 days out, day by day....

So last Tuesday was my surgery. Surgery went perfect according to my Dr. 2 hours in and out plus fixing to hernias.  half hour in recovery and then to my room.

Rest of Tuesday was typical, drink pee walk, but my hospital bed stunk so I was awake more than I wanted to be.  Typically very sore inside and out.

Wednesday the only thing I could get down was ice chips the inside of my stomach hurt even if I sipped water.  This is how it was for the next 3 days.

Wednesday I got a new roommate who had GB. The Dr came in and said that he had been in the hospital for nearly 10 days with some mystery complications? WTH???? I got up out of bed and took my IV to the family waiting area and camped out there for the day. I also started pinging my Dr so I could get out.  I was released by 6pm.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday typical except on Thursday I tried to walk 1 mile on the treadmill very slowly which I did but then it killed my energy for 2 days. I have tried again since.

Saturday my stomach started taking water and I tracked my calories.  I think I got 800 cal (my sleeve is bigger than most) and by sunday returned to feeling normal again. Saturday I had 6 BM's and I wrote my Dr who approved Gatorade and a 2nd protein shake. I felt like I was losing more than I was getting in.

Sunday church and just a normal day, didn't track how much water I got. I know I got more than 48 oz but felt like I should have had more.

Today Monday, I am back at work feeling fine and normal.

I had a private room also, and it was so nice.  My surgery was One month and two days ago.  Just do as the doctor tells you, and youll be home before you know it.

Good luck with your upcoming suregery.
