Tracy, what a fantastic opportunity! Glad you seized the day. I am so encouraged by your posts, comments, journey and hope I can have a similar journey. Thank you so much!

Tracy,

Your such a great representation of both this procedure and what it can do for you !!!

I've given a few talks to some various groups of doctors, nurses and administrators, one was to a group of cardiologists. The discussion of the positive impact on type2 diabetes and metabolic changes was eye opening to a lot of doctors.

Keep doing what you do !!!

Thanks, Frisco - you've always been so supportive and have greatly reinforced my surgeon's opinion that this surgery is for maintaining weight loss.

And it amazes me how much educating most medical professionals still need about these surgeries.

Great post Tracy. I admit to being annoyed still when people refer to RNY as malabsorptive and VSG as restrictive, among other similar adjectives. There has been enough research to show that malabsorption and restriction may be the least important reasons these surgeries are so successful. The metabolic and endocrine changes are much more significant, and they are just starting to understand them better.

It sounds like a great day you had. I would have loved to have been there.
