Would never have predicted this...5K in the books!
I know, I know....I said I would NEVER run again unless there was a bear or lion chasing me. All I can say is that having your husband nipping at your heels (in the weight loss OR the athletic department) provides a lot of incentive to do things. We ran the Children's Hospital Monster Mash to raise money for their childhood obesity programs. Appropriate since we were both fat children.
There were only 8 women in my age group (getting older has advantages) and I came in 4th at 31:16. Not too bad for an extremely hilly course. And yes, I beat Mike to the finish line
BTW: Mike is at goal just 6 months post-op. He started off at 291 lbs. and weighs 187 lbs. today (some of this was lost pre-op). Someone told him with that skull cap he looks like a cancer patient - LOL! I assure you he's perfectly healthy
Great time! I hope to be close to that in another year. If you finished 4th with that time, there were some serious runners in that group!
