What is a low residue diet? The term is unfamiliar to me.

I fight badgers with spoons.

I start soft foods on the 14th. I am going to make the following meals in my crockpot this weekend to prepare, divide and freeze:

  • turkey parmesan meatballs
  • Shawarma chicken pieces
  • Teriaki peanut chicken pieces

I am also going to remove the bones from sardines and have those. And continue with the ff refried beans, cottage cheese, soft cauliflower and broccoli, and tuna.

I thought broccoli was a no-no, too fibrous and stringy.

My NUT said that string beans and broccoli florettes made in the crockpot are fine, as long as they are well cooked and soft. But that's my program and they all seem quite different.

What are the examples that your NUT gave you?  That might help us give you better advice.  (Since I've never heard of a low residue diet for post-ops.)

I've never heard of a low residue diet either.  Can you tell us what that means?  Did they give you some suggestions of foods to include?

Low residue means soft diet! No fresh fruits or vegetables, anything that may be rough on your stomach
