Little NSV
I live in a bad part of the country to be fat. I live in South Carolina on the coast in a small town called Beaufort. I think that's French for "damn hot and humid." We have two seasons...Summer and Almost Summer. I know other parts of the country get hotter but none match the heat and high humidity.
Before the surgery we always kept the house around 70 degrees. It would freeze our kids to death but I was always hot. Well now, and only a little over two weeks since the surgery, I'm tolerating 75 degrees with no discomfort. I guess it's because the weight loss has been so fast.
The kids are happier (and less bundled up) and I'll be happier when I get the next power bill.
I'm on the Coast of NC, and can totally vouch for the heat and humidity. I hear one of the neat things about VSG is the way we begin to get more and more cold natured. Definitely a side effect I'm looking forward to.

I'll look forward to that too. I've ALWAYS been warm natured. Even when I was playing football and wrestling in high school. Getting cold natured will definitely be a plus!
Hi,
Its not such a good advantage when you live in the north! (smile) I'm cold all the time, and my hubby grew up in Maine and he's happy at 60 degrees! Last year, we got heat pumps for several rooms so I could bring the temp up in one room without heating the whole house! hehehe
best wishes,
Carol

HaHa I can totally relate to this and I live in Michigan! I can't stand being hot! The last week has been 35 and 36 degrees at night but I am very hot all the time. I woke up 3 nights ago and it was 62 degrees in my house, my kids were chattering their teeth it was so cold, I told them, put on your coat but I will not turn on the heat until November - so I guess it will be very nice once i have my surgery especially for my kids so they don't turn into little blue popsicles overnight!
I love this story! While I live in a place where summer does get hot for a few weeks (think 95 - 110) I always feel like it's summer and think 65 is great shorts/t-shirt weather. My joke has been my "natural insulation" keeps me warm.
Looking forward to the day when a cute sweater or even a jacket will be in my wardrobe! Hoping your power bill continues it's downward slide.
I can totally relate to short "winters". I grew up on the coast of Texas ( I am also familiar with hot and humid ), and my mother and I always joked about "The 12 Days of Winter".
I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

I have always had heat and cold intolerances. Weight loss hasn't affected me in this way.
