Iron
so question for the long timers. I'm 11 weeks out I reach my water and protein goals most days. but really can't get much else in. I have been getting daily head aches and feeling very tired. I went to my chiro been feel stiff. and she noticed A large bruise on my hip I had no idea got to looking and I have a lot of them on my legs and arms and back. I go to surgeon follow up on Wed. but foes this seem Luke anemia should I be worried.
Headaches are frequently caused by dehydration. You might want to increase your fluid intake for a few days to see how that affects you. It couldn't hurt to try.
As for the bruises and fatigue, it does sound like anemia. Have you had your blood work done lately? Do you have to have that done for your appointment on Wednesday? Make sure your iron levels are good. I'm always super low in iron and I've been taking iron pills for years. I now take them in the evening, right before bed, with chewable vitamin C to maximize absorption. This seems to help...
However at my last checkup (six months post-op), the nurse said that because my iron is so low, and because my menstrual cycles are really, really heavy (and usually only a 21-23 day cycle), then I am losing a lot of iron there as well. She recommended I look into a method of stopping/lessening my periods so I can retain that iron instead. This is something I'm currently considering. I want to talk to my PCP about it as well. To be determined.
Iron pills might do the trick for you. Have your iron levels checked and go over that information with the nurse at your appointment. You might find a good solution! I wish you lots of luck in figuring out what is best for you.

Bruising can be from a lot of things. Low vitamin K can do it as well.
But vitamin deficiencies don't really show up in just 11 weeks, unless you were already low before surgery. It's best to see your doc and get all your labs run just to make sure.
