I celebrated my 5 month surgiversary on August 7th. I'm down 85 lbs. I went from a 24w to 16 pants.  I'm out of the plus size section.  I went from a 50 waist uniform pant to size 38 waist pant (don't like them tight,  could have squeezed into a 36).  Blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol are normal.  I stopped taking arthritis meds since I got the pressure off of my joints and can bear any discomfort without the pills. I compiled an abbreviated list of NSVs to celebrate:

I can wipe my butt without dislocating my shoulder

I can cross my legs

I can fit into a bathroom stall

I can go through a doorway with another human

I can see my feet

I can sit cross -legged and not cramp up

I can buy cute clothes in the regular people section

I can tie my shoes without cutting off oxygen to my head

I can squat all the way down & get back up without going to all 4s then crawling up on something

I can walk and breathe normally at the same time

I can hide behind things smaller than a vehicle now

I can weigh myself at home

I can look in the mirror now

I can hug myself.

Thanks for letting me share!  Have a wonderful day!

I asked myself, "am I doing the right thing?" right up to the point of laying down on the operating table. It was obvious that I couldnt do it by myself, needed a little suegical intervention to assist. If I had to make the decision to do it all over again, I would in a heartbeat, no doubt about it.  I still wonder if I will just stop losing weight before I reach my goal, like the surgery will fail this far out. This is how my mind works, though. It causes me to be hyper-vigilant.  At 5 months, I still measure my food and under eat my sleeve.  Water consumption is an all day, every day affair, but I love this lifestyle.  I feel so much healthier.
