whats your plan?
So i'm having to pay for half of my surgery this Friday...yikes!my husband is very supportive of my decision...its hard to imagine weightloss after trying on my own for so many years...I would love to have a plan to lay out for him...can some of the vets please tell me what you were eating and doing excersize wise at say, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, etc...also, would like some tips on weight training to help with sagging skin, my stats are 41 yrs, 270 lbs, 5'7...hoping for a mid sept surgery date....TIA!
Nothing will help with sagging skin. You'll either have it, based on a whole host of factors, or you won't. You can't do specific exercises to change that. Which sucks :P
I've journaled my whole process in the link below, it might be helpful. Or not. I'm 4 weeks out now and life is pretty awesome. :D
At one month out I had just finished pureed foods. Yum. Now, at 4 months, I'm able to eat anything.
My plan looks like this:
3 meals a day, no snacks
Meals are 3-4 ounces of food, protein first
1 protein shake a day, not other liquid calories
As much exercise as I can get - this works out to three days a week of treadmilling, a bunch of yoga, pilates, and tai chi. I could only walk for the first 6 weeks and I've enjoyed doing more and more ever since :D
Your surgeon's office should give you lots of information too. I had all of my eating schedule spelled out really well for me, so I could share that with my family.

What plan does your NUT and surgeon give? This is more important b/c they know your physical and nutritional needs more that we do.
I progressed through food stages as my NUT told me to, and I was cleared for all types of exercise at 6w post op. Life was pretty much back to normal (except for me shrinking in size) by about 3 weeks post op. I still cook similarly to how I did before (diabetic husband means we were a low carb household already), just smaller portions...heavier on meat and veg, lighter on carbs.
Since about 6w post op, my nutrition goals are 600-800 cal per day, 65+ protein, under 50 carb (this is my own limit after tracking my food ad seeing how I do), meat first, then veg, then fruit, complex carb last if there is room.
I mostly walk for exercise - at least a mile a day. Weekends are less formal, but I have 2 little kids so following them around/climbing at parks is my weekend exercise.
