I took them for two weeks. During the last days, I was taking 1/2 doses - mainly before bed so that I could get comfortable enough to sleep. Don't go by anyone else, especially the pain tolerant ones - like my husband. He is freakishly pain tolerant. You're not going to heal if you're dealing with pain. They don't give you enough to become addicted. Actually, my dr. gave me an end date - when to stop taking it. It was at two weeks and three days post-op.

You want to be sure you are treating your surgical pain and not feeding addiction.  As per my pharmacist, after 2 weeks on narcotics at a steady rate, you are addicted.  Warning signs of this are body pains and chills as tho you have the flu.  Nausea could be part of that.

Since you are going through post surgical pain, figuring it out may be difficult.  A good rule, take them as long as you really need them and get away from them as fast as you are able.
